Profile:
I’ve always been a fan of auto racing. Before NASCAR got a TV deal, watching races on television was a treat for me as a kid, so whenever two or more cars were racing near a television camera, I made sure I was watching it on my end.
This got me exposed to the NHRA, Indy Car racing, and Formula One racing-who can forget Sir Jackie Stewart doing color commentary on ABCs “Wide World of Sports” whenever the Grand Prix from Monaco was on?
But I have to say my favorite sanctioning body has always been NASCAR, because of it’s roots beginning with moonshiners challenging each other on the weekends on who had the best “shine car”
Now I’m not a moonshiner myself, but there is something uniquely American about that, going back to the Revolution. NASCAR has always had stories of people from blue-collar roots, spending weekends at the local track fixing up their stock car, winning a weekend race then going back to work on Monday. Working hard, playing hard and one day getting their talent recognized by a major car owner, and given a chance to prove themselves in front of a crowd of thousands of fans.

I agree
The rules need to be enforced. I’m sorry I don’t have instant recall on the dega incident, but I’ll take your word on it. When the post race commentators stop seeing what I see I’ll stop using the example. I wasn’t blogging during the dega or I would have had something to say about it!

I'm
SO PSYCH’D! I LUV when my boyz do good!
The 83 team is getting things together. They’re more quiet than some teams, but they’ve done some awesome things already this season (higher in points than both Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch
). (BTW: this was BV’s 4th top 5 @ ‘Dega)
Jr had a decent day, too. If not for that wreck he’d have been up there fighting for the win.
Good luck next week!
