the car befor a race? I'm just wondering because with all the money and all the crew that these drivers have,don't you think someone MIGHT think to check on that!Maybe the driver's need to go back to the old school style of racing where the driver's were more involved with what was going on under the hood of their car's!

Catfish, so many are not understanding the part and what it does, unfortunately. I do see NASCAR taking the win very soon in the future because the teams are F'ing with the car and NASCAR don't like it. I like the fact that they tood a full extra day to impose the penalty. They obviously feel they got it righ and there is no room for "appeal". It obviously caused an advantage in their eyes.

1) They may not have had somebody do thid before(and actually win)
2) If they took the win,it would pretty much be over with then and there. But only taking points and money does something bigger: It causes controversy! That causes people to pay attention! That draws in new fans and sponsors. Nascar may not be as dumb as we think! Or I'm just totally wrong, and Nascar is not as dumb as we think! :P

Did anyone hear about Rusty Wallace nationwide team .. They got away with there fines and things .. They ended up with none ..Now is that right ..I believe that Carl Edwards got what he deserved and I think they did right by what they done to him ..He shouldn't have won I think that should have been taken away from ..My husband said to me the next day when we heard about what happened to Carl that Jr. should win that race now he said but that didn't happen oh well I like to see a driver win fair and square myself ..So Jr. will get them roush bunch I don't have to worry about that ..But as for penalty handed down he did get what he deserves ..

if it was hendrick or Jeff gordon would I say the same thing and my answer is yes, if they are found to be getting anunfair advantage over the feild and nascar catches them, then yes. especially if thye get caught after the race becuase that mean something was done at some point and it either got missed entirely or it happened after pre race inspection.I don't respect cheaters, and it don't matter whose behind the wheel. the problem is everyone pushes an inch. its a matter of getting caught. I don't get why nacar didn't strip the win if they are taking the ten points anyways..

i am surprised alot of fans are saying the same thing why not take the win away? there is no proof he did not get advantage from the missing cap and there is apparently proof that he did, becuase lets face it nascar is strict on the new car and its design but they would NOT penalize like they did if they didn't feel he didn't get an advantage. and the fact is I would hope that f this happens again to any team they follow suit, now 99 fans are upset more becuase he idi win therace but thats even more reason for nascar to do what they did. had they felt he didnt get in advantage i don't think they would have docked the 10 points in the chase. there is a reason why it was handled the way it was, and drivers should be prepared for future penalties like this if they have violated a rule.
