Dave despain tackled this question on T.W.I.N. the other night. he brought up that Chevrolet won 26 races in 2007 and there were no calls to have their engines tested to see if they had more horsepower. (maybe a few “they’re cheaters now and then)
does anyone know if Toyota is running a different engine package this year than they did last year? it seems to me that JGR is a top notch organization and no matter what brand they put their drivers in they seem to do very well.

I think that they DO have more horsepower, but I also suspect they have hit upon a strategic setup and nobody has figured it out yet. Hey, good for them!

Since all my top drivers are Toy’s that’s a good thing!

I think Toyota has just worked on their engine package from last year. They started out a li’l rocky because they had never been in Nascar before, they had to work and adjust them for differing tracks. (Flat tracks especially) Now with Gibbs there, they have more quality teams to deal with and my Red Bull is getting their team/management deals worked out so they can join Gibbs up there on the tops list
