Crossing The Line
I must admit, I have recently crossed a line here phish. I am an Earnhardt fan from way back. With the rivalry in the air I loved digging for 3 and hating the 24. As I started watching more and more (More than just the Sunday event) I realized that on the track there was rivalry but off the track a friendship and even a mentor for Jeff. When the 24 flew the 3 flag after matching the # of wins it was bittersweet. On one hand Earnhardt wasn’t there to be logging wins but on the other Jeff took the time to acknowledge him. That was it I’m a fan of that 24.

But it also comes down to humility. Jr for instance thanks his crew his sponsors, his fans and races clean. I don’t think that he dump’s drivers on purpose. The same reason I like Kahne Gordon, Johnson and Kenseth. That’s also the same reason I HATE KYLE BUSCH I think he’s got this chip on his shoulder. He treats the Media like crap and other drivers for that matter.
Until this year I saw him as an upcoming talent. But then he said “I don’t care how many I have to wreck I’m here to win.” Then he takes out Benson and himself when he wasn’t fast enough to pass him because “3rd wasn’t good enough.” I hope 25th or whatever he got was better for him and the owners. He also whines about Brad racing him when he was a lap down but proceeds to race leaders 80 laps down the next week. A double standard I don’t agree with. The next week in NW Leffler got really loose and took out both of the team cars. That never would have happened if Busch wasn’t trying to pass three cars on the out side (and was not going to make it) Bush immediately blames Jason and won’t hear anyone or look at a video. When the Media guy asked if it was his opinion that Leffler shouldn’t have raced him that close Kyle looks into the camera and says “Well Duh!” The guy was trying to get Kyle’s opinion not asked if he agreed. And they constantly have to chase him back to his hauler like his mommy is in there to wipe his tears. He will say something that just plain wrong rather than review a video. That’s why people boo when he get’s introduced. He needs to shed this bad karma. It seems to be catching up with him quickly. I thought I could overlook it when he dumped the bud car last season under caution. He storms off and his own crew can’t find him so upon request Dale drives his car avoids a DNF and gets Kyle a few more points. Do you think simple thanks even took place or a “Sorry for wrecking your car?”
It’s like Scott Speed I’m happy he got a truck win in his sixth start but he looks awful jaded and I’m hoping he’s not; I’d like to be a fan of his. If he gets cocky I won’t.
I think Dale is the most popular driver in the sport because he is a prodigy. NO RACER SON COULD GROW UP IN DALE SR’S ENVIRONMENT AND NOT LEARN THE BEST TRICKS OF THE TRADE!!! NO WAY. HE’S HUMBLE HE TAKES HIS LICKS BUT AT THE SAME TIME GENUINLY FEELS BAD AND APOLOGISES IF HE WRECKS SOMEONE. HE LIVES IN A MODULAR AND PLAYS ON-LINE GAMES WITH THE ON-LINE COMMUNITY.
I THINK HE HAS HIS DAD’S ETHICS AND THAT WILL TAKE HIM A LONG WAY IN THIS SPORT.
So I’ve crossed some lines but I don’t follow Dale because he drives for N.G. or AMP. I did try Amp though and it’d good!
Thanks for the Introspect Phish- I’ll check those profiles but I write my opinions and that’s all they are The drivers bash themselves enough! Kyle even admitted that one in SI
Repeat this weekend 88 all the way!

Very Well Said!!
I think you called it right. I am a Kyle Busch fan and I also like Gordon. Heck I even like JR. some but alot of his fans make it intolerable to root for him. I dont shop products based on what any driver has as a sponsor. I know JR fans hate anyone bashing their driver but they need to remeber that other people dont like their bashing either. I feel like dont dish it out if you arent willing to take it. Truth be known if it came down to the chase I would love to see Gordon get another Championship so even though I like Kyle I still like my other drivers as well.

i can relate to both arguments you make
For one, i am a die hard denny hamlin fan. I support all of the joe gibbs driver because this is more of a team sport now than ever before. I can also say that i actually like the other drivers on the team. Tonys personality is just like me, and kyle is hated by a lot of people just like me too lol.
I am also a David agan fan. (I am one of very few) However, i am not a fan of jack Roush, Roush Racing or some of the other drivers. For one i cant stand mcmurrary even though i love his sponsor. lol. Matt kenseth and greg biffel are good drivers, but i just dont pull for them. I do like the carl because he is different than most other drivers.
As for sponser support, I ship fedex when i can, i perfer to shop at the home depot, and i love m-ms. I do not use the services of triple a.
I think at the end of the day it comes down to who you can elate too the most.

Amen to that!
I have taken alot of crap because I’m a Dale Jr. fan. If people read my profile, they would see I also have several other favorite driver’s. Yes, Jr. is who I root for every week. But I have NEVER even tried an AMP Enery Drink. (Ok, I did buy one to get my name on his special car he’s driving in October). I don’t really like Kyle Busch, but I love M&M’s and Snicker’s, plus Tony Stewart is his teammate and Tony is on my list as a favorite driver. I also think it will be fun to watch Joey Logano’s progress. I’m not into bandwangoning. I am faithful to Dale Jr, regardless of his dry spell. I’m not going to jump ship just because he hasn’t won yet, he will get his win. At the same time I can still root for other’s

I read alot of you’re blogs, and this one was really good. You make a very good point here.
Have a great race weekend

To go on the attack
just because of a profile pic is ludicrous
Are we not all educated ADULTS here !! I admit when I first joined the Community that I said to myself – self – I’ll have ONLY Jimmie buddies, join ONLY Jimmie Crews, just have ONLY Jimmie photos !! More time went on I said again to myself- self – who are you trying to kid here !! Fact is I DO like other drivers – so why not claim them too. Here’s a secret – I don’t particularly like Kyle B. – but I’ve met some of the coolest, funniest, Kyle B. fans (some are now my buddies) – Moral of my story : Don’t judge a book by it’s cover

Driver support...
I must admit that I’m not too fond of energy drinks… Bud was a more suitable product for me to endorse. LOL!! But I really don’t base my shopping habbits on a driver’s sponsors. With the exception that I will not purchase M&M/Mars products or Pedigree pet products. But that’s my perogotive.
CHEERS!

I consider myself
a NASCAR fan. I love Jr, but I was a fan of the sport before he came into it. There are 42 other drivers that come out every weekend that help make NASCAR the sport I love! While I may not love every driver, I do appreciate the fact that they contribute to my entertainment! LOL!

You don' t like M&Ms?
As always great blog
I use to like Edwards but after last seasons little deal with him approaching Kenseth when he was doing an interview, acting like he was going to punch him, really turned me off.
It’s a shame that people can’t just come in here and concentrate on their favorite drivers and just leave other members to do the same. Sure you can blog about your opinion on a situation then leave it at that. There is no reason, EVER, to attack any other member for what a driver did. Yes we would like to have the remote control to the cars (Toyota commercial) but we don’t. So why should a Kyle Busch fan take slack over what Kyle did on the track. Just for the record I like Jr and Kyle and to me it was a “Racing Incident”

My Turn
On my profile, you’ll only see one driver listed. That is my loyalty. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like other drivers as well. I don’t care who they drive for, it’s the person I like.
Just because I’m for Stewart doesn’t mean I like the entire JGR team. Kyle isn’t one who I pick as a favorite. I do like Denny & miss Bobby Labonte (as a team member).
I’m in the same boat sorta as well on Carl Edwards, I don’t know why, but I’m not crazy over him either.
Sorry Catfish (lol), I love chocolates, the dark M&M’s at that! I also hate Mountain Dew, but I do like Dale Jr.
As for last weekend’s race, I don’t hate Jr & don’t hate Kyle for what happened. It’s a racing deal where neither wanted to give.
