The finest stars and cars of Nascar's oldest touring division,the mighty modifieds
will shake the foothills around Asheboro this coming Saturday night,March 22,2008
as the Nascar Whelen Southern Modified Tour opens at Caraway Speedway.L.W. Miller,
Mooresville won last year's event and was the Whelen Southern Modified Tour champion as
well.Miller will face a strong field of competitors once again as both the Whelen Southern Modified Tour
and Whelen Modified Tour will be well represented.
"Young Gun"Matt Hirschman,Northampton,Pa.,will make the trip down as well as Ted Christopher,Plainville,Conn.,
Jamie Tomaino,Howell,N.J. plus a host of others from the north .Ronnie Silk,Norwalk,Conn.will pilot the
"Hillbilly Racing" mod #79 of Roger Hill during the 2008 Whelen Modified Tour season.
The South will roar into Caraway Speedway with the Myers boys,Jr. Miller in his own modified,Brian Loftin
and Andy Seuss who is now behind the wheel of the Riggs Racing modified.The teams will all be gunning
for the 1st win of the 2008 Whelen Southern Modified Tour season and those championship points.
Bring your family and friends out this Saturday night to Caraway Speedway for some up close,in your face
racing excitement.Caraway Speedway is located at 2518 Race Track Road Exit,Sophia,N.C.A full card of racing action
is on tap with the mods going 150 laps,the super trucks running 50 laps,sportsman running 30 laps,
street stocks 25 laps and the cab cars running a 12 lap feature event.By the
