Well, i just finished watchng trackside on Speed, and the first guest was david ragan. He prooved again how he is not only a great driver, but also a good person. David has grown up a lot since his days on roush driver X. In the day he was a hot headed young driver with a heavy foot and an open mouth. In three short years he has shown a new respect for the sport and the other drivers.
He mentioned the deal with Tony Stewart at atlanta at the end of 06. I had almost forgot how he donated money in order to ride with tony during driver inductions. This act showed incredible class, not to mention great PR.
This year David has shown a lot of maturity this year, but the signs were there. I attended Richmond in 07 when he got his highest finish to date of third. This really made me pay attention. This season, i became a fan. i am happy to say that david is my number two behind denny.
To all the female fans, i hate to say it but david has a girlfriend, he mentioned that on the show as well, but you never know. Earlier in the week, speed ran a special on hometown heros. david mentioned that his dad was his hero. i thought that was nice. He really a great person, he will be an awesome driver. Thats all for now.
Oh by the way…a funny side note. At the track davids trailer is not very busy, but i bet it will be one of the ones you have to wait in line for soon. It was nice not to have to stand in line though…but i willing to wait next time.
