You could
talk to your parents about this. Actually, you should talk to your parents about this. This is Bullying and in today’s schools it IS NOT tolerated. If the same person is doing it every day, ask your parents to call the principle and request to meet with the bully and his parents. I work in schools and this works everytime! The bully will sit there silently in ht eprinciple’s office as his parents and your parents talk…and the bully will get an earful from his/her parents when they get home. Then, if they say something mean the next day to you, go straight to the principles office again and report it…also tell your parent and demand another meeting. The kid will get in trouble and his parents will be pissed. After that, the buly will never mess with you again. All you have to do is tell on him…he’s bhoping that you won’t tell, so he can keep on picking on people. Talk to your parents tonight about it…it will make you feel better. You can email me anytime if it’s bothering you or you have a question!
Go Jeff Gordon!

Hey
I know where you’re coming from. Though I wasn’t picked on because I was a NASCAR fan, I was always picked on growing up and clear into college. It took me a long time to deal with it and sometimes it still gets me down, but the advice everyone has given is the best thing you can do. Just don’t let them know it gets to you. Smile and say thanks or just completely ignore them, but don’t show them it has any affect or they’ll just keep at it. My motto in life that I try hard to live by daily is “Like me, love me, or hate me… your opinion won’t change me.” It helps sometimes to remember that they can think whatever or say whatever they want, but I’m still the same person and that’s what matters most. Good luck and feel free to message me anytime if you want someone to talk to.

Hey dude...
Kids can be really mean sometimes…it’s a shame. I was sensitive like you when I was in school, so it hurt my feelings. I’m sorry your’re having to deal with that crap…You can eventually get better at not having it hurt your feelings…but it will take awhile. In the meantime, take the advice that’s been given…I like the “smile and shake your head, grin and say “thanks genius, I’ll get back to ya on that!”
In the meantime, I want you as my buddy!

I am so sorry
you are going through this. Try to remember that you are not the only one who gets picked on. I have a 13 year old daughter who gets picked on because she is hispanic. To make matters worse, she is a Kyle Busch fan and we live in the heart of Jr Nation. I tell her to just ignore these idiots. If they see that they are getting to you, they will not stop. I think that whoever these kids are who make fun of you because you like NASCAR are just looking for something to grab onto. If you have some friends to hang with, stay close because there does seem to be safety in numbers. Middle school is the worst. Hopefully thigs will get better by high school. Are there other kids who like NASCAR that you can be friends with? Keep your chin up and know that this WILL PASS.

You are among friends!!!
My mom always told us that there are people like that everywhere. Don’t ever stoop to their level. I would rather have my kids be NASCAR fans than worship an NFL or NBA player. Race fans are GOOD people. Have you ever tailgated before a race? Everybody forgets something at home sometimes, a NASCAR fan would give you the shirt off their back if you needed it.
These kids that are picking on you, someday they will grow up and think back to how stupid they were. You on the other hand, will have great memories of races that you have been too and watched on TV.

Hey man...
I’ve loved nascar since I was 8 years old. I got picked on my whole life about it. And other things. People do eventually get more mature (on average) but I’ve found the best thing I ever did was grin and say “Thank you” and continue on my way. This will cause them to ask themselves why your saying thank you, and some people will stop even mentioning it. (Disclaimer: just my experience when I was an early pre-teen and teen) The more you let them see it bother you the more they will do it.

I'm not sure
how to handle this; perhaps you could just give a somewhat sad smile, shake your head and say something like “thanks for your opinion, I’ll take it under advisment”....Sorry some people feel the need to hurt others in order to feel better about themselves…
