OK, the fact that there are so many blogs about who should or should not have won, what the deal was with the tires and who would have won had it not been for so and so has inspired me to write this.
There are many blogs debating who “truly” won the race this evening. What people are overlooking is the fact that it was a GREAT finish that was really exciting – and there have not been many of those kind of finishes this year.
Yup, if the #00 car hadn’t wrecked out Jeff, I’m sure he would have won. (yup, sarcasm) If Carl hadn’t wrecked, I’m positive it would have been Jr. Or Biffle. Or Edwards. Or………..This is Talladega and crap happens. Be grateful no drivers were seriously injured and let’s look forward to next week.
Goodyear tires. OK, Goodyear can only RECOMMEND a tire pressure. It is up to the teams to decide whether or not they want to go that direction. Obviously, some did not. Don’t be quick to point the finger at Goodyear – as it MAY not be their fault.
I thought the race was pretty darn good and hope next week will be just as exciting!
Peace!

Hope you’re feeling better!
Shell, it will be interesting to see what unfolds, but I agree, I don’t think it was a tire problem…

It was interesting
that after the Goodyear guy spoke and talked about the higher tire pressures the teams were using, there wasn’t another one until near the end of the race. That tells me it wasn’t a tire problem, but the crews bumping up the starting pressure may have been the problem if the tires weren’t cut.
