NASCAR Rules...that's what RULES!
“Detrimental to the sport” is in fact a NASCAR rule. Part of Section 12 “Violations and Disciplinary Action” which starts on page 27 of the 2007 NASCAR Rule Book. Specifically 12-4A “General Scope of Penalties”, sub para “A”. Check it out.

Rules, what rules
I thought they were guidlines that NASCAR set up, and if they felt you were outside of the guidelines, then they became rules. How many times did we see “Detrimental to the sport” as a reason why some teams, drivers, and crew chiefs were penalized and fined.

2008 NASCAR Rules
That’s like asking what the IRS tax codes are like!
When you say “new rules” do you mean the ones that are not being carried over from 2007?
If so the biggest and most sweeping is that there will be but a single section regarding the car specifications. What was the COT is no more…it is the O&OC! i.e. One & Only Car! No more “yellow pages” section.
To be honest, I don’t think the 2008 rules have been published. My 2007 copy has a date 1/1/2007 on the copyright page.
