So Carl Edwards and Rousch were docked 100 points and fined for their rules violation that led to the win at Vegas.
I for one believe that cheaters should also be stripped of their win and it should go to 2nd place. NASCAR says that if they make to New York they will not be rewarded 5 bonus points for that win. Wow, way to penalize cheaters!
I am an educator. What message are we sending the youth of America when we let a person who violates rules and wins a race keep the title (win)?

will forever be known as the guy who lost a championship because of a 25 point penalty. In his case taking away the win wouldn’t have made any kind of a difference.

Ever since the very first race...
…the legal system has said NASCAR can police itself. That first race, the guy who crossed the finish line was stripped of the win…because, he cheated!!
It has not happened since.
I’m not debating one side or the other; rather, I’m pointing out it would be a dangerous precedent if you strip someone of a win. If someone were to miss the Chase because of doing something like this, you bet somebody would cry foul.
I’m not sure if this helped.

really only means something if they get the 10 points in the chase—if they make it—so why take away a win?

has never taken away a win, as far as I can remember, but you put an entirely new spin on it! Maybe we need to send out NASCAR leaders back to Elementary School. Isn’t that where we teach our children that Cheaters never prosper? Thanks!
