A tip for when you are updating your profile pic … if you are using a new photo, upload it to your photos and then wait until it has been approved (the yellow box around it will vanish) ... and then use the ‘Set as your profile photo’ link that is available to pictures.
If you use ‘Edit My Profile’ and upload a new pic there, you will be shown with the (ugly) No Picture image until someone approves the new pic uploaded.
