Is anyone surprised?

Saturday June 28, 2008 @ 12:26 AM EDT

So Mears is moving on. If you ask me, it sounds very familiar…can you say Jr and DEI? Obviously with some differences, yet the same outcome. Junior left the only team he ever drove for and the one his own father built for a team that didnt make him look like a loser. Maybe this is what Mears needs, although I am unsure considering Mears hasn’t really been in the spotlight since joining the Hendrick team.
I dont know much about NASCAR yet but I like to think I am learning something new everytime I watch. So maybe it is just me who sees the Mears/Junior similarities but I cant help it. Then again it could just turn out that his contract is up. Maybe its both!Im not saying that Hendrick set Mears up to fail all these years but it might look that way to Mears fans. This same was also said when Junior was in contract negotiations with DEI,some if not all of us Junior fans thought that DEI/Teresa was setting him up to fail so that no other team would want him. As fans we may never know, all we can do is support our driver no matter what happens to him or what he is going through. So I want to wish Casey good luck in the future and I hope that this turn of events will have the same results as it did for Dale Jr.
