I think Menzer was just sort of playing the...
...devil’s advocate, so-to-speak. And even if that is his true belief, he DOES have a right to think that way, as I happen to know others who do feel the same. But honestly, what they did was fair, there was no “cheating” involved, he got voted in, he won, end of story! I just wonder why he wasn’t anymore of a factor in the first race for the drivers to get into the Allstar race. I guess he got to learn more from his car in those two 20-lap segments and that is what propelled him in the second race. I suppose there will always be different “sides” to it…because all of us have different perspectives. Don’t let it bother you too much, you know we’ll never ALL agree!

I haven't heard
or read Mr Menzer’s comments, but if what you are saying is true, you have a good point. I believe in the fan vote for the All-Star race. I don’t see why it is good enough for other sports, but not good enough for NASCAR. I think Kasey had every right to be in the race and shouldn’t have had to get in just by the fans. There were a couple of other names that were left out of the race that I believe should have been in – Bobby Labonte, Kyle Petty, etc. I also believe there wer some names in the race that I don’t think should have been there. I won’t name any names – i wouldn’t want to start an arguement – but I think that a fan vote would definetly put the drivers in the race that the fans want to see!

Hmmmm......
Where do I start? Well, I agree with most of this blog, I think….Kasey got voted in, so he belonged there as much as anyone else. And the point regarding Hornish was good – He raced his way in, but other than that, really didn’t belong in there (THAT is why they HAVE the “Shoot-out/Challange” race in the first place – to allow other drivers a shot at earning their way into the race. Personally, I voted for Robby – thought that he’d be a good addition to the race, myself (Also figured that Kasey would’ve been able to race his way in…lol). Menzer just had a rare derailing of his train of thought, I’m sure….

I Agree
Im with you
Kasey had every right to be in this race because the fans think he is an all star and he won a race with 20 something other all stars in it
