Could he have won it all? Yes. plain and simple. But at what cost?
But Sunday before the Michigan race had even started Kyle Busch confirmed he would not be running for all three series championships. Ending weeks of speculation from every possible source.
With Clint Bowyer holding a 243 point advantage in the Nationwide series and Kyle ranked 5th. He feels that with the consistency of Clint Bowyer it’s a defecit he might not be able to over come.
In the truck series he currently sits in 13th, only 217 points behind in that’s series. But seeing that his chances are dwindling to truly make a run.But with twelve other drivers in front of him, he knows its going to be difficult to do even running the schedule he is running.
In the Cup series his lead of a full race only 3 weeks ago has been dwindled down to 32 points, due to wins by Jr. and the ever consistent Jeff Burton and poor showings by Busch at Pocono and a 13th place finish at Michigan his focus needs to be on Cup.
To me this was a no brainer. He has a realistic shot of winning the cup this year. Now a reminder its not even halfway yet and a few drivers have yet to notch a win( Gordon, Smoke, Kenseth, Kurt Busch).
But traveling across God’s great country takes it’s toll and takes focus away from the real prize. We all seemed to wonder what was Joe Gibbs thinking allowing him to run three series, three different states in 48 hours it seemed to cool this driver off.
Kyle made the right choice. This guy can drive anything, but why not put all that energy and all that focus into the Cup series. But remember this sport is also about momentum and he lost some of that the last couple weeks. While a few others gained some.
Things can change in a instant in this sport, so I am not going to crown him just yet, but he’s the front runner. So this choice had to be made.
Maybe this is a sign of maturity, making this choice was tough knowing how competitive he is, but its the right choice.
Which means bad news for the rest of the field if Rowdy is just focusing on Cup now. But anything is possible like Rowdy said he is young, he doesn’t have a family to have obligations too so why not?
He could wake up tomorrow and decide to run full time Nationwide, and I really wouldn’t be to surprised.

Just a matter of time before ....
it was going to happen. He flamed out early and he won’t be a threat anymore. Good thing he realizes he isn’t all that. Take some of that arrogance back and put it where it belongs. Hope he can just race clean now and not wreck people for the hell of it.
