my Birthday and a few weeks back my mom asked me what i would like, I turned her and said Gordon to have a top 5 finish. She turns to me and says realistically what would you like!! I was well aware of there struggles but I was hoping this championship team can show why they won 4 championships. Heres My weekly run down:

:
Kasey Kahne probably wishing we raced at Charolotte every week. This team that had not won in 52 races have now won the last two weeks and have momentum on there side. They are red hot, and find themsleves 12th in the standings. They needed this win, so many questions after the All star race about fan voting and was it a justified win, and Yes it was!! He proved why he was so good in 2006, Hopefully Dodge and GEM can find a way to carry this momentum into Dover.

:
Jeff Gordon and Jr.- Gordon never was a contender he knew that, Steve LaTarte knew that but they knew track postion was everything for good finish. Marred back in traffic they couldn’t go anywhere. On the second to last acaution a two tire stop allowed them to come out seventh. Smoke spun his tires and backed up the feild sending out the final catuion Gordon adn a few others took advantage of it came in top off and started to conserve fuel knowing full well the leaders would have to pit. It paid of while the 99 ran out of fuel Gordon finished 4th and rattled off his second top 5 in as many point races. This team is starting to figure it out. There car was better than it looked but passing in traffic was at it’s premium. The gamble paid off and Grodon stayed solidly in 10th in the standings. Jr was up front most of the day, was leading the race but running the high line bit him, smacking the wall, a chance for victory disappeared liek thsoe right side tires. He battled back though taking on the 24 crew stragety and coming home 5th, great Job by both these crews and drivers not giving up and taking a chance.

:
My what happened to them: the Penske Dodges, I was really rooting for Kurt Busch, but smacking the wall took away his chances for a victory. he came home 16th and on the lead lap. But they got to figure out whats going on with those cars after daytona they have never really been contenders and there chances for the chase are slipping away. Denny Hamlin, was my biggest disappointment. I thought for sure he would run well here. Never really got out of the back of the pack and never was a contender, after a hot few weeks this team seems to be off just a bit.

:
My big surprises: Bobby Labonte man this guy is proving why he is valuable to any team Petty better figure out that contract and keep giving him cars he can drive, or he might not be in the # 43 next year. David Ragan another strong run, all though he fell out of the top 12 this kid can drive and he is a rising star in this sport.

:
Now My “attaboy” : all the men and women who are serving our country and too all those families who sacrifice often goes to the wayside in the politics of war. I personally am grateful to all those who served and continue to serve. I wouldn’t be enjoying the life I have if it wasn’t for the men and women before me who fought for this country, died for this country and loved this country faithfully even when they were not free. We shouldn’t be honoring them once a year, we should be honoring them everyday becasue thats what they given to us everyday…. My grandpa fought in Korea, My step father fought in Vietnam, I have many friends over in Iraq and they were not drafted they volunteered. They gave up there own lives, so that we can enjoy racing, so that we can have BBQ’s and speak our mind on blogs without question.During prerace ceremonies I started to cry, thinking about what those men and women are going through. We live in a amazing country, we are lucky to have what we have. And often forget that. I feel like we have to do better for these men and women and for those who come before us they have given us a chance, now we have to take it, and make this world a better place. Too all the members on here who have sons and daughters who are fighitng over there, to all those who have fought in a war thank you for sacrificing yourselves, thank you for loving this country enough to defend it. Thank you. God bless all of you and God Bless America!!
