Ours is...
A little anti-climatic. The only time we ever had someone win the “championship” other then a guy with the last name of Edwards was when this kid named Hamlin dominated the track one season. (Denny of course)

Thats cool...
I would love to have racing like that. Our local track is always fun to go to. Its a quarter mile, the tires cost more then the body of the car, and my dad used to sponsor the #3 car with his business. We actually have two tracks around here Langley and Southampton. Langley they go…maybe 100. southampton close to 120. Maybe one day I’ll go to South Boston, VA for a busch east race, but thats a long way to go for a local type race.

Local racing....
doesn’t pay millions of dollars for their cars. They don’t have big time sponsorship deals and television exposure. They normally don’t go much faster then 120 in any given race and can afford less safety. I can drive in a local race and compete in most if I wanted to. If you want all racing to be like local racing, then go to your local tracks. They need the support as well. You can’t compare local with national sports at any level. Its not that these smaller teams aren’t making that much money its that half of the teams (even some large teams) were going out of business and there is no easy way to replace them. They need to work on the car, progressively like they have been doing and not rushing to do something that might compromise the safety and cost of these cars. I agree that mile and a half races have been (more) boring this year then the other types, but they were like that with the old car even when Sr. and Rusty were still around. (With the normal exception of the allstar race which too many teams treated as a test race)

Great minds think alike!
Even on the Nascar post race shows they kept saying what a great race that was. I was like, Huh? Kasey winning it made it worth watching but other than that it was follow the leader the whole race. They (NASCAR) created this bank vault on wheels and the safety on it is terrific. But there is a reason there is not a Brinks Security Car Series. I want them (NASCAR) to let the teams fix the mistakes with it is all.

WELL GO TO ANY
LOCAL TRACK IN ANY RACING SERIES AND ASK IF ANY OF THEM MAKE MONEY. NONE, AND YET THE RACING GOES ON YEAR AFTER YEAR. GETTING BACK TO THE POINT, I DON’T EXPECT EBERY RACE TO BE SPECTACULAR BUT NEITHER DO I EXPECT FOR SO MANY TO BE A BORE LIKE THE 1 1/2 MILERS THIS YEAR.

If enough people..
Feel that way then Nascar will drown. Only way I could go for something that would make things more expensive is if you gave out 43 Franchises that could be held as assetts to hedge losses.
