MicroSoft in NASCAR?

Wednesday March 26, 2008 @ 04:16 PM EDT

I’m glad that BAM Racing has been able to find a sponsor, but MicroSoft? I realize that the sponsor is MicroSoft Small Business, but being a semi-techie, I couldn’t help take a few jabs at the new entry into NASCAR. (A good share of the credit for this blog goes to my more techie wife.)

Here goes:

How will they find a driver who wants to crash several times during each race? (JPM maybe?)

Will the car suffer from “driver compatibility” issues?

Will the eye candy block the forward vistas?

When the driver flips the ignition switch, hits the breaks, or anything else associated with operating the car, will it ask, “Are you sure you want to do that?”

When the pit crew fuels the car, will the car say “You need to have administrator privileges to do this. Do you wish to continue?”

When the garage crew attempts to work in the engine compartment, will they find that all the critical parts are now hidden?

Will the car freeze every time the driver attempts to bump-draft?

If the driver forgets to save after each lap, will he lose all his laps each time he pits?

Will the driver be forced to drive the MicroSoft way, in spite of industry standards?

If the car conflicts with NASCAR, will MicroSoft buy out NASCAR and rewrite the rules to their own liking?
