There seems to be a lot of crying every year about Cheverolet always walking away with the manufacturer’s points championship. I’d like to get something clear at the outset. I wouldn’t drive a Cheverolet if you gave me one, unless it was one of Jimmie’s that he wasn’t going to be using next year. But you guys who crunch the numbers, here are the basic numbers.
Toyota teams –
Michael Waltrip Racing – 3
Joe Gibbs Racing – 3
Bill Davis Racing – 2
Team Red Bull Racing – 2
Total – 10
Dodge teams –
Penske South – 3
GEM – 3
Front Row Furniture – 1
Chip Ganassi – 3
Petty Ent – 2
BAM – 1
Total 13
Cheverolet teams –
Dale Earnhardt Inc – 4
Morgan-McClure – 1
Hendrick – 4
Richard Childress – 3
Haas CNC – 2
Front Row Racing – 1
Hall of Fame – 1
Total – 16
Ford teams –
Rousch-Fenway – 5
Robby Gordon – 1
Wood Bros – 1
Richard Yates – 2
Total – 9
These are the projected teams for next year. But Cheverolet still has the odds in it’s favor with 16 teams.
Cheverolet was in the lead for the odds while it still had Joe Gibbs, which gave them 19 teams, and Toyota, only seven.
As you can see, the odds still favor the “bow tie” boys. So until we get more teams in the other three manufacturers, or less teams driving Chevys, the odds will remain in their favor.
If your tired of seeing Chevys win, buy a team, and run something else. Until things balance out, Chevys will be favored by the odds.

Chevy?
While your right about the #’s and odds. Did any ask why is thier more Chevy teams? Could it be they better the odds of winning? I appreciate your honesty about not likeing Chevy. I won’t drive nothing else. And I’ll tell you why. I have had Fords, Dodges, and one Toyota. And had lemons from each and they would not back thier product. Put me in situation to have to hire an attorney, that was gonna cost me more than just getting rid of it. I have had two GM products that had alot of problems, they gave me a new one and took back the bad one.(twice) They will back thier product if I get a bad one, and thats been my experience with vehicles.

And I thought that
I wa the only one who noticed that pattern.Reminds me of Jay Leno talking about a scientific study done on airplanes. He said that scientists determined that more people die when jumbo jets crash than litle two seaters. DUH! Lets see…300 people on a jumbo jet, two in a two seater. Hmmmm, lets do the math!

It's pretty sad
that in two years Toyota has surpassed Ford in the number cars racing.
