My reply to Edward's critics

Friday July 20, 2007 @ 10:32 AM EDT

In reply to the claim that Carl is a mid-packer” without being given the “fastest” car. Edwards is not overrated. He’s under appreciated. He’s waking-up the observers and competitiors—Their venom is flattering actually.

Roush/Fenway Racing has been playing catch-up all year long. Jack has NOT given Carl “much faster” cars. Carl has qualified with, and driven with average equipment. He’s qualified well, or taken his car to the front—and kept it there all year long. And, that is the GOAL of racing -get in front and stay there till the end.

Look at Kyle Busch. (question: what do call a little Bush? Answer: a Shrub. comment: can you tell I don’t like #5?) Everyone knows that Hendrick has the fast cars. Shruby Busch leads the NASCAR stats in Quality Passes – the driver manuevers his car in front of the other guys’ car. He’s a very talented driver. Yet, the lil’ twit is #9 in the overall standing. Carl is #5. Carl is #2 in the last 6 races, (just behind Jeffy-another Hendrick car!!!).

I’ll take Carl’s driving talent and especially, his patience, maturity, perspective and self-control over the “talent” of the other top-running, lil’ hot heads. You know who they are. Just pick a number.

Hey, #99 Nation, keep you heads held high….
