The “Greening Affect”, Oil Supply Limitations & NASDAQ: NASCAR’s Future
With a little research one would find that the oil shortages that are affecting all major economies in all Countries come as no surprise to the so called ‘Experts’. Major changes in oil extraction is going to happen not due to the lack pumping,, but a totally different reason,, the oil that we are now using comes from deposit made by decaying matter millions of years earlier,, Dinosaurs are one of the most commonly known sources and was even made a part of the movie starring Robin Williams,, Mrs. Doubtfire,, when he sang in ‘Rap’ form the words explaining how oil was made,,,, anyways,, it is not due to a lack of exploration or drilling,, when a pocket of oil is found,, then we start pumping it out,, it will eventually reach its apex of oil extraction capability,, then it is a downhill slide until it eventually dries up,, when all the existing pockets are used up,, and with no matter decaying in a timely manner,, there is no oil to be drilled for or pump out,, it is simply gone,,,,, with millions of years until the next assemblage of decaying matter to produce oil,,, there will be a major change expected in all forms of transportation,,,
‘Greening Expectations Affect’: Relinquishing to Applied Pressure
With the world’s attention currently focused on the environment and all that we do that affects it,, one would tend to think that it will only be a matter of time that some outside group of Conservationist looks at our sport with a well cleaned magnifying glass and takes it on themselves to “Clean Up NASCAR”,,,, make it “Environmentally Friendly” and even possibly see a way of “Self Notoriety” bringing focus not only to what they feel to be an issue but to themselves as well making it possible for them to gain from our eventual loss,,, Sure there will be suggestions on how to make cars more efficient,, burning cleaner fuels,, possibly even Solar Powered Race Cars,, hey it ain’t my idea,, I don’t like even thinking of that but,, you know as well as I do that the attention of the entire world is focused on just this issue,,, Don’t Kill the Messenger,,, Whatever boulevard the sport’s “Powers that Be” decide,, you can bet the farm that the entire world will be watching,, just to see how the concern is handled,,,
NASDAQ: Trends in Motion; Deterioration of Sponsors, Teams,, Careers,,, ‘Who’s Next’
When Chip Ganassi Racing officials announced Tuesday the team will Shut Down the No. 40 Sprint Cup Series entry driven by rookie Dario Franchitti, and with some teams having to actually qualify in order to get a sponsor, in is definitely apparent that money is on the minds of more than just the teams who need sponsors,, but the sponsors too as they try desperately to make cuts to an already bleeding capital resource,, they are treading water trying to stay alive in an economy that shows no signs of a supporting atmosphere,, It is affecting other areas too,, Tony Stewart has implied that he wants or is looking into starting a race team in either the Nationwide or the Sprint Cup Series,, the news people could not write speculations fast enough to keep hungry editors fed and readers or listeners sitting up with full attention to see who he would drive for and if he did indeed start a team,, he might want to sit back,, or maybe he is already,, if you notice,, the focus has turned elsewhere,, lately,,, Sunoco,, Bless the Hearts,, they have to be taking a hit,, a hard hit too,, just look at their downward spiral in the stock market in the last 6 months alone, SUN,,, the fine points of the arrangement they signed with NASCAR is not notorious but I can bet you that it did not use the equation of $5.00 a gallon fuel,, ours not the kind that NASCAR gets,, that has to be, if it were for sale,, it would have to be at least $10.00-$15.00 a gallon, which is a definite “Ouchy”,, Ain’t no band aid that big,,, and that is not to speak of all the other things that teams use that is “Petroleum Based Products”,, folks at places like Goodyear,, yes tires are made from a petroleum based product,, heck fire,, let’s not forget that stuff we call “Oil”,, yup,, it’s in the engine,, lubrication costs,,, lots here days,,, to list the products that are made up from or derived from oil would take a long time,, needless to say, there are lots,,, and if each one made a deal with NASCAR,, discounts,, freebees,, whatever,, that deal is now in jeopardy of either unraveling altogether or renegotiated to say the least in order for them to stay in business,,, and that is If the sponsor does not tick NASCAR off,, NASCAR sues,, ends up owning the company due to Breach of Contract,, a contract that if they decide not to leave NASCAR would eventually bankrupt them anyway,,,
With NASCAR’s future in question,, not of being,, but changing,, growing,, “Evolving” so to say,, it ponders the mind to wonder how,, what,, who,, all questions that time can tell only,, for no one knows for sure if what we now call NASCAR,, Racing,, no one knows if in 50 years,, it will even still be here,, or will they just have tracks in the air,, I mean we are just one step away from the Jetsons now,, ain’t much of a leap to think that in some time in the near future we all feel a need to say,,,

How much does a
team spend on racing fuel each weekend? What would alternative fuels do to the performance of a stock car?

You know what gets me?
Go to an airshow. You’ll find that most of the stunt, trick, and acrobatic planes use ethonol for fuel. Thats from CORN! The oil industry has somehow planted the seed of thought that this clean fuel is somehow too expensive or dirty to use( hey…It’s compition to them!). But there are currently over 4 million gallons a year produced for planes, trisk and funny cars, and various other vehicles already! What is the real problem? Iyt competes with oil!
Now anotherv stupid setback is this: The price of corn is going astronomical because of this even though it’s “supposedly a bad idea”.
Yet , congress just passed a bill 2 months ago signing ointo effect a 438 million dollar farm subsidiy(?) bill paying farmers not to grow corn.
WHAT? Its going through te roof in cost and shortfalls are expected! Why not stop paying them to NOT grow corn and instead actually determine two grades of corn: One for consumption and the other for fuel research and use!
It would be win , win, win for all!
Cost of corn could go down, the money paid to not grow could be use for other usefull and needed things, and we wouldn’t be forced to pay an arm and leg to buy it. Farmer.s could sell all the corn they could grow.
Oh yeah, you been to the movies lately? Ticket prices are going up to cover the cot of corn. Theatres announced that they couldn’t increase the cost of popcorn again(too high already) but instead raised ticket costs and admittion. Thats great!..except for people who don’t eat popcorn are also paying for it too!
Great blog! Now I think I’m gonna kill an ear of corn to show where I stand!
Great blog!

I don't know why,
but you contine to blow my mind away with your insights. I have not looked that far forward but to be sure, you have me wondering now what the future will hold for all types of motor sports, not just NASCAR. Very very thought provoking.
