tracks
At the tracks we go we always have a great time even when the wearther is awfull. At Gateway we enjoy friendly smack with fellow tail gaters. only a couple of minor issues. once at a autograp session an older man was chatting us up. he then sort of passed us in line then he began to chatt up the next group ahead of us and passed by us to chat easier. then he stared to chatt up the people in front of them. One of our group called out a cation to the next group saying. better watch out he is going to chat his self to the front of the line.funny as it is if he had asked as he was a bit older we would have let him move foreward. since he tried to manipulate his self we called him on it. He returned to his place behind us. At Vegas we where surrounded by J. Gordon fans .Jr. was not dooing well and they where rude,we just ignored them.

You gotta go to your local tracks too!
Wear your NASCAR gear with pride, but get to know the drivers who race locally to you. I guarantee you will have a great time, get closer to the action then you can at a Cup race, and come away from the event fired up for more action!
My “local” track is about 45 minutes from me in New Egypt, New Jersey. It is a dirt track where all kinds of good racing can be found.
New Egypt Speedway
And about 45 minutes south of me in Millville, NJ another track is being built. In August it will host an ARCA race and the facilities will be able to run oval and road course races!

I've been pretty lucky
at the race track – the biggest problem I’ve had is the weather (man – 3 races rained shortened or rained out in less than 4 years!) I have fun people watching – esp those who don’t seem to realize that:
A – short shorts are meant for people with model-like thighs, not cottage cheese tree trunks
B – I realized its hot, but PLEASE, for the love of the children in attendance, put on a shirt
C – at 85+ degrees, if you don’t have some water to go with your “other” beverage of choice, you will pass out and miss the best reason for being at the track – the RACE!
Have fun at the races, everyone!

Thankfully...
the races that my son and I have been to at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Lowe’s were comically peaceful. We both are Jr. fans and have been surrounded by Kyle, Smoke, Gordon as well as Johnson fans – there’s never been anything crazy going on. I would hope that fans who tend to wanna’ act a fool remember that we all have FREE choice to like who we like and that should be respected. I would hope that we learn how to just get along and agree to disagree. Good Blog!

Truly Sad and Concerned...
I have read this woman’s blog and I am truly saddened that grown adults act this way. My first race experience was at Kansas City in the fall of 2006. We were camping in the infield and there was a group of gentlemen camping right next to us and they were the best people that I could have asked to be next to for my first race. They were very friendly….so friendly that during the Busch race they let my boyfriend’s handicap son (he was 14 and it was his first race as well) get up on their plat form to watch the race as well as letting him borrow a set of their scanners so that him and his dad could listen to the driver. I could not have asked for nicer people to have met and enjoyed my weekend with. Now keep in mind that I am a Kyle fan, my boyfriend is a Jr fan and his son is a Gordon fan as well as we had friends with us that were Kahne fans and a few others and no one got out of line with any of us. But, we are getting ready to head off to the race at Chicagoland in July and I am not so sure that I will have to same experience. I am not look forward to they attacks because I am a Kyle Busch fan. But, I can tell you one thing that I am still going to wear my M&M gear no matter what!!! Hopefully, these situations will have cooled down by then!!

Scott...
Well said!! As Jack Nicholson would say, “Why can’t we all just get along”!

I read that lady's blog
I felt real bad for her. There is a difference between fans of Kyle and flamers here who post junk to get on other people’s nerves.
We should remember that when we go to the races. I’d say most fans at a NASCAR event don’t post here. And the ones that do post and are obnoxious deserve the wrath we given them, but if someone posts something of sincerity but you don’t agree with them, it doesn’t mean to jump down their throat.

seperate but together...
We all go to the races to watch our favorite drivers. We all wear your drivers colors and number proudly. But when you get pass the shirts and hats we are alll just there to watch a little racing. That is what I love about this sport so much. You start the race as strangers setting side by side and leave friends. I find that pretty darn cool.

First Mothers Day race at Darlington
We went to the first Mothers day race at Darlington, and we were in a section of mixed driver fans, but my kids thought it was funny that people would actually give different drivers the bird as they were driving by at almost 200 mph. My kids could understand that the drivers were more focused on driving than whol was flipping them off, but the offenders didn’t. lol :0
