The changing conditions during the race...
...are not Tony JR’s fault. All the crew chiefs and drivers say the same things on the scanners/radios! It is that darn COT, the changing conditons such as temperature extremes, the tracks having new pavement, etc. All the drivers such as the better ones like Jimmie, Jeff, Tony, Matt, Junior, etc. all complain about the cars changing. The setups are never going to be good enough for the entire race and even subtle changes have such strange effects on the COT! The car of yesterday seemed to react better to wedge adjustments or trackbar adjustments or even to tire pressure. This COT leaves alot to be desired! I think we either need to just give it time or NASCAR will have to come in and make some changes to the car as a whole. I think that front valance, splitter and stupid “wing” is causing issues. I wish the car had a rear spoiler instead. Regardless, I think Tony Jr. is doing a superb job given what he has been given to work with (the COT), the access to Hendrick racing knowhow and the fact that he is still learning a lot, I am sure!

i like tony jr....
tony jr is a good crew chief, but he has to stay up with the car and not let it get away from him. Maybe he is trying some wacky experiments on the track. What ever he is doing he is not consistent from the beginning to the end, the car is always getting away from him maybe it’s the change of track temperatures

Working through it
I think there is an understand here that we will never know, comments we are only guessing what they mean. From what I see and hear they are a tight crew, and doing quite well at that.

JR&JR
I’m pretty sure what JR said Tony JR. was in jest. These guys know each other like the back of their hands. More important, they trust each other!!!

According to an interview with Jimmie...
...on Dave Despain’s Wind Tunnel, Tony Jr. and Dale Jr. are really ahead of the game and much more knowledgable than anyone thought. I don’t think Jimmie would say that if it were not true. Plus, Tony puts in a lot of hours and is trying to learn more and more at Hendrick. Many times what they say on the radio is in CODE, that is what Hendrick teams do many times…so you can’t always take it to the bank. I don’t think Junior would be third in points (with no wins) if they weren’t knowledgable. Give it time; this is a very competitive NASCAR period, much more than ever before.

You guys don't know.....
what Tony Jr. does during the week when they’re testing. Junebug has the best crew chief right now…......Tony Jr. Tony Jr. and Junebug probably spent some time in the wind tunnel tuning things up. Tony Jr. said on tv that he has all kinds of setups in his computer and he works them from week to week. It has nothing to do with loyalty, Junebug thinks Tony Jr. is the best crew chief for him and they’re both comfortable with each other. Cut them so damn slack and let em race. Y’all are too quick to cut nuts when you do get results right away.

Sometimes you can
be too loyal in this sport and it can bite you in the bu—. Junior needs a new crew chief or I fear he will never win another race much less a championship. Just about all the wins Junior has had in the past were with Eury Sr. not Jr. Ward was too loyal to BDR when he had chances to go to better teams and he won 5 races with them, a second tier team. Can you imagine how many he would have won with Hendrick or Yates back then when he had the chance to go. Now he’s out of the sport with probably no chance of getting back in.

Jr
Hi. I’m not much of a Jr fan but i think Eury Jr should have listened to him and lowered the left side. I think it might have helped him. Look for him to get a win here shortly
