What happened at Michigan in Cup?

Kyle led the 1st lap from the pole and was in the top 5 until lap 185 when there was a round of pit stops. On lap 96 he was 3rd, on lap 157 he was 3rd, on lap 173 he was 4th. He came in for what should have been his last stop on lap 185 but on the restart he was 21st. He came BACK IN the Pits on lap 194 (WHY?). Kyle finished the race in 13th with a TOP 5 car. All and ALL I suspect Kyle is not real happy with the week-ends results. Kyle is still the POINTS LEADER 32 ahead of Burton.
