Kyle started 40th but on lap 46 after passing the 26 on the inside he moved up towards the wall and clipped the front of the 26. He said he had lost his right side mirror earlier and his spotter did not tell him the 26 was there. He rejoined the race on lap 133 with a totally new front end and rear drive train. Then on lap 177 he got too low on the track, he lost grip and spun out.
Kyle’s TRIFECTA turned out to be a ONE-FER. Sad to see a very promising weekend turn out so poorly.
On the POSITIVE SIDE Kyle still leads the Sprint Cup by 21 points ahead of Burton, 145 ahead of JR and 228 ahead of Edwards.
