As a few of you know, there is going around, a request for not buying gas on the 24,25,and 26th of this month. Although I go along with the idea, in spirit, in practicality, its impossible to carry out. Why? Well for 2 reasons, 1.) for it to be effective, you have to get ALOT of people to cooperate in this effort, and, how can you when you reach a small segment on here? And 2.) Even if you do get alot to cooperate, its still impossible to do, because everyone gets paid at different times, and has other priorities with what money they do have.
So, heres what I propose: If you want the boycott to be the most effective, get online and tell ALL your friends and family about this. Flood the inboxes of your friends and families emails with what is going on and what you’d like them to do.

I have to fill up...
Two times a week. I get 30 MPG (would get 35 if they’d get rid of the corn in my tank) on a 12 gallon tank. My wife gets 24 MPG on a 14 gallon tank and has to fill up a little less then I do. I’m driving from NN, VA to Charlotte, NC in my wifes car (unfortunately) because I don’t have enough faith in my car to make it and I have no radio. These boycotts don’t work, because no matter what you do you still have to get gas eventually or you won’t work and bring food home. You can get fuel efficient vehicles, it won’t even make a trickle, because its not even our consumption driving up costs. Its India and China’s. Whatever conservation we do would only serve as a slight (very slight) detterrent for prices. The only real way gas prices will go down is by economic pressure from different groups. Vacation spots, NASCAR, other major sports, or to get out of our dependence on oil altogether. But even then the average person this hurts is not going to be able to afford a 40k$ car that doesn’t use gas. They (both sides of the aisle) won’t even let us drill or build more refineries to even give us a chance of competing in this area.

Anything is possible if you plan ahead, and just do it!
I know that this gas boycott seems impossible to do for some people, I totally understand!
I & my Husband drive a total of approx. 100 miles a day, 5 days a week to and from work. I know that we will be purchasing a fuel efficient vehicle very soon. I want to make a stand, that enough is enough! I have heard from people who are making minimum wage and still trying to fuel up just, to go to work! If we don’t do something then they will continue to jack up the gas prices until no one other than the rich, are able to afford to drive!

A little hard...
To do when you drive 80 miles a day to and from work and plan on going to the Coca-Cola 600.
