Newman snaps his 81 race win less streak with which is his biggest win ever in his career.
Newman had a few close calls with his car starting out very tight to being to loose. He had to pull back out of the 3rd spot to drop back to 7th to keep from wrecking himself and possibly others.
This is Newmans first race with new crew chief Roy McCauley, but they had alot of success in the Nationwide series in 05 winning 6 out of the 9 races they raced. On the last pit stop Roy made a huge adjustment to Ryan’s car to help him out so he could try to race for the win.
Then to see Kurt struggle all day long and to start from the back to push his team mate to victory lane and finish 2nd himself. Penske has never seen the team work out of his camp before like he is seeing now.
Ryan Newman didn’t only break his win less streak, he also won Roger Penske’s first restrictor plate race and put Dodge back into victory lane. This could go to show that Roy and Ryan are going to pick up in the Sprint Cup were they left off in the Nationwide Series 2 years ago.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been around but I am back…If I can find ya’ll..lol. Anyway, I wanted you to know that even tho I wasnt here I was sure thinkin bout ya and how happy you were when Newman took the 500. I was thinking “OBD, Bless him, he’ll totally be on cloud nine..lol”. I loved the whole teamwork thing too. It was so classy. So congrats…a bit late, but I’m happy for ya!
