We all know that Jeff Gordon can drive a race car, He has 4 Championships and many records along with 81 wins to prove that! But this is not typical Jeff Gordon! I feel like the car that he is driving would finish alot worse if Jeff were not behind the wheel, Meaning:If someone else were behind the wheel of that exact race car (They) would probably bend it up,if not completely destroy it! So, now that we are on the same page, Lets figure out where the problem really lies! Does Jeff deserve to be in the Chase? If Jeff climbed into Jimmys race car would he do better? Lets take driving style out of the equasion,Same stables, Same Equipment,Same Owner, Shared notes, I cant help but think that Jeff is just taking up a slot in the chase that could be used by someone that will run more consistant! I want him in the Chase more than you know, But,the chase contenders are what we are all tuning in to see! I cross my fingers every time the 24 car pits! I set on the edge of my seat and pray that the wedge wrench turns the right direction, I will not ever give up on the 24 team but, Jeff needs to make some changes,and soon!….Onarail

I see a different picture
Jeff didn’t buy his way into the chase. Nascar didn’t reserve a spot for him. He’s there because he has the finishes …well., at least the points, that put him there. Granted, he’s not exactly burning up the track, but he is where he belongs. He is in the chase because he earned it. May not be fabulous, but he earned it none the les!

IF THAT’S THE CASE, THERE ARE 11 OTHER DRIVERS JUST TAKING UP A CHASE SPOT
Jeff is a great driver, so this should speak volumes about the COT, which is junk. Jeff & Tony are examples of great drivers with dumbed down equipment. The COT resticts their great driving talents. They threw the COT out there way to quick. It is a flawed product.
As far as Jeff is concerned, he was winning Championships against Dale Sr, Rusty, DW, and the current drivers, so Jeff is still the best

I think Jeff is an awesome driver! I think he maybe is being a little more cautious because he has a beautiful little girl he adores. Maybe he’s doing it subconsciously. But think he will make a comeback soon!
