Ok here I go again. I said I wasn’t gonna write anymore on Kyle Busch…but this one is really about Dale Earnhardt SR. I always hate to write about SR because of the gazillions of fans he has! And under no circumstance do I want to change the way people remember Dale. ...BUT… I’ll just come right out and say it…respect! So that brings me back to Kyle and the way people are misjudging him, yea that’s the word I was looking for. Oh well…So I’ve been a big fan of Kyle from way back and of Dale SR. I once made the mistake of comparing Kyle’s driving style to Dale Sr….man it was bad news for me for a long time….until Mr Kyle helped me out. If you know what I mean. By the way…I’m writing purely on some comments that were made about the kid….that’s all. I respect everyone’s views. And with that said…I was crazy, had lost my mind all kinds of things…how dare me to even mention Kyle and Dale SR in the same sentence…Well don’t know if everyone has read the top headline for yesterday’s Nascar news so here it is….

So that brings me back to the word “respect”...and the fans that say Kyle has none or lack of!
And at least Dale SR had respect for other drivers which is what seperates him from Kyle Busch! Ok…here comes the part I always hate. And remember I love Dale Earnhardt, and for all he’s done for the sport, and for all the memories my dad and I had watching him race for years…BUT if you think Dale “IRON HEAD” Earnhardt had respect for other drivers….let me be easy here…then I’ll will have to disagree. Dale was one of the most hated drivers on the planet for a long time. I’ve got hours of tapes (VHS) to back me up. He couldn’t get along with hardly anyone including his wives, his kids much less the drivers! Why you ask? Because of his racing…and why was this a problem….because he wanted to WIN races as bad as he wanted to breath! Dale on the track had no respect for anyone. He would run over you, run around you whatever it took to win! Whenever he was strapped in his race car he really became a monster behind the wheel. Ya know he earned all those nicknames honestly. And to this day I think most drivers didn’t respect him…they feared him! My point is…you can’t worship Dale SR and hate Kyle Busch! When Kyle was racing Dale JR for the win Sat nite…I can promise you he wasn’t thinking of respect. He was going for the win no matter what it took. And that my friend is what you call RACING! I will say he is a little dangerous at times…but there’s an old Nascar saying “Death is a bi-product of racing…but treated like a stranger” Not everyone will agree and that’s ok too. But I will say in closing…Kyle Busch has arrived hate him or love him…but you better get use to him!

to hear these things about the kid Kyle…the same identical things they said about Young Earnhardt SR…man it brings back them good ol memories….keep it up…I love it! Oh yea the saying was “I didn’t mean to WRECK him just meant to rattle his cage” I’m laughing my ass off right now! This it getting to be a blast…yall keep it up!

I do remeber Labonte getting spun at Bristol, in fact, I still have it on tape. Things you probly don’t know: 1. I am a Terry Labonte Fan 2. I am from Corpus Christi (Which explains why I have that race on tape). 3. I am quite a bit older than 30.
I watched Dale Sr. bump many people out of the way. He was an aggressive driver- hince his name. Most of the time he “rattled cages” as he put it. KB does not have enough finess to “rattle cages”- he goes to far and wrecks people al the time. Wrecks himself a lot. When he is out of the car, he is a jerk. I DISLIKE him very much. I don’t like his attitude and it is a matter of time before he hurts someone. I am not only a Jr fan, I like about 7 other drivers that i root for. Yes, Jr is my favorite, but I am open minded to the other drivers on the track.

Maybe some will see what we’ve been trying to say all along. As well as 18’s comment of who hates the comparisons (under 30), a younger generation who may have just caught the end of Dale Sr.’s career. After his death his accomplishments overshadowed what a cocky, hated, bully he really was on the track. One of the things that I can remember the most was the boo’s from the crowds after be banged the crap out of every driver on the track. Personally, he was always the driver who I loved to hate.

It amazes me that alot of the people who hate the comparisons are under 30. They were not around for alot of the stuff that happened. Also a very true point people conveiniently forget, Dale Sr. was like 28 as a rookie, not 18. So he was not tagged as immature as much as KB. So the fans need all the facts before they cry fould over the comparisons. Ask DW to tell you how he felt about Dale, Sr. during his first two years in the sport.

I gotta agree…There are alot of similarities between SR and Shrub…If the kid keeps winning,...it just gonna get harder and harder to find excuses..I think Sr had finally started to mellow in the last couple years…Kyle is a long way off from mellow…It’s gonna be a rough,..but interesting ride.

that’s a very good comparison. One of the things that made me a Dale fan was his passion to win. He raced that way from the time he was a kid. What most know about Dale Sr was that he was an icon of the sport that died while racing, and that’s about it. He was arrogant and he was the most hated man on track. All the drivers knew if he was behind them that they were going to have their hands full keeping him back there and if they didn’t give him the room he wanted to pass he’d make the room himself.
