Hey, everybody.
Just got checked into the hotel after a breakfast/lunch/dinner at Coco’s Restaurant, a West Coast coffee shop chain.
I last ate at 2 a.m. local time, so I snarfed down a French dip sandwich and fries, and now a nap sounds very good.
I can tell I’m back in the State of Self-Importance, since everyone in the place was on the cellphone, talking to somebody else. The three guys at the table next to mine were having three different conversations with people not even in the room. I think even the busboy was chatting away.
Overcast and dark clouds hanging over the mountains, and cool for this time of year here. The rental car daily forecast shows “rain” for Sunday. Not showers, not periods of rain.
I don’t like the sound of that.

Mark, how is the world does a CLASS GENTLEMAN like Joe Gibbs end up with 3 drivers on his Sprint Cup team that are notorious troublemakers and in my opinion accidents looking for some place to happen on the speedway. Each of these, er, drivers?, has proven himself to be vindictive, self-centered “if I can’t beat you I’ll wreck you” freaks. Joe Gibbs is a gentleman to the “nth” degree and these 3 are dirt track punks.

Not all of us are self-important jerks, but we do have our share. I ran some chick off the road a while ago because she was so busy on her cell phone she wouldn’t let me merge over to get off the freeway. I am sick of CELL PHONES!! I am not liking the weather reports either. They actually mentioned NASCAR this morning on the weather report and said that it’s not looking good! Have fun while you’re here!
