Two of my friends have posted blogs about themselves and I thought it was such a great idea that I decided to do the same.

I was born and raised in Frankfurt, Germany where I met my future husband who was a native New Yorker, stationed in Germany. When his tour was up, he did not want to stay in Germany as a civilian and therefore I took the big step and moved far away from my home, to New York.

I found out pretty quickly that the English I learned in school in Germany was a lot different than what people spoke in the United State. But like they say, when in Rome, do like the Romans, and I figured out real quick that in order to survive, my English has to improve. I think I did okay because people today tell me that I hardly have a accent.

I fell in love with this great country almost instantly and I quickly learned things that most people take for granted, like grocery shopping in the U.S. is nothing at all like grocery shopping in Germany. LMBO

I have one sister who is two years my junior. She and her husband live in Ireland and I hope no later than next year, I will get to go and visit her.

Unfortunately, my marriage only lasted 7 years. I tried it one more time after that and that did not work out either, but it’s all good as I am still friends with both of them ‘til this day.

I worked for AT&T for 20+ years, starting out as a clerk investigating unbillable and uncollectible calls to/from Germany. that was a fun job. Within 3 years, I worked my way up to Management and held many different and interesting positions at AT&T. I am a Systems Analyst by trade, which encompasses many different jobs under that title. Primarily it involves designing and documenting new system functionalities as well as analyzing and documenting system anomalies.

Accepting different positions within AT&T also meant sometimes physically moving to different states. As mentioned before, I started out in New York, but also lived in New Jersey, Georgia and now, for the past 15 years, Florida.

Over the past decade, AT&T had many down-sizings that I survived. I sometimes thought I had more lives than a cat. LMBO
But then I too ran out of lives and because of SBC’s acquisition of AT&T, the Payroll system I supported at AT&T was no longer needed since SBC had their own, thus making my entire department obsolete and we all got down-sized.

Now I am taking some time off to enjoy myself after working crazy hours for years and only getting like 4-5 hours of sleep most nights. You might say I am stopping to smell the flowers.

I have no children but my zoo makes up for that: I have a Great Dane, 3 Yellow Labs and 5 cats. I also feed any stray animal that shows up hungry on a regular basis: cats, raccoons and possums. I hate to see any animal go hungry.

I love Nascar of course and my other hobbies include Fishing (!!), Cooking, Gardening, Politics, Reading and Forensic Science and building things.

I joined the Nascar Community last November and it quickly has become my 2nd home. I have had so much fun here and made many friends, some will be lifelong friends for sure.

That’s about it, unless you have a question. If you do, please do not hesitate to PM me.
