Made you look, hehehehe.
Seriously, I was wrong about something and I know there are a lot of you out there who felt and may still feel the same way. It’s the latter I would like to address in this blog.
When I first came to this Community last November (seems like a lot longer) I kept getting these mass PMs from people asking me to read their blog. My reaction then was always: look at him or her, blowing their own horn about a blog they’ve written. Yup, horn blowing is what I thought it was. I was wrong in a big way and I learned that all by myself and here is why:
You can write a blog and within a couple of hours, that blog can be on page 3 or even further back, depending on how many other people write blogs. I’d say most people don’t bother going past page 2 of the blogs. And what about the people who don’t get to log on every day?
I think we are missing a lot of good reads because of the aforementioned. And some blogs, because of the research involved by the author, deserve to be read and commented on. Therefore, the best solution is for the author to put out a mass PM with the blog link. Don’t forget to include the link as it is key for people to easily find their way to your blog.
Let me add this though: I say most of the blogs deserve to be mentioned in a mass PM with a link to it. I am excluding those blogs that just say: Hi, I’m back or Thank you for adding me to the Crew, or I got my tickets to such and such race, or last but by no means least, the basher blogs.
So if you wrote a good piece and want people to read it, send a mass PM with the link to the blog.

I personally can and do
find my own way through the blogs. I’ve been here since allmost the beginning and I think the PM is 1 of the worst upgrades they’ve done. Peachy-there go some more “buds” who don’t listen when I say please no mass messages.

blogs
I read blogs every day from members of the community who I know have good topics
or good views. They are on my buddy list or I bookmark them so they are easy to find, and you are right most of the time I don’t go past page 2

I thought
the blog was just to get things off your chest. I didn’t know we were suppose to get people to read’em.

You can do a mass PM two ways: Everybody can send a mass PM to all of their buddies. You have 68 which is a pretty size group. Crew Chiefs and mods of Crews can send a mass PM to every member of that crew. So take me for instance: I’m not a Crew Chief but a mod of a couple of Crews and I have 121 buddies. I can do 3 mass PMs: one to all of my buddies and 2 to all the members of the Crews I am a mod of. I have to be careful though: Some of my buddies belong to the same Crews and therefore they get 3 mass PMs for the same thing. I usually apologize for that up front in the mass PM.
Do you know how to include a link to a blog in a PM? If not, PM me your e-mail and I forward you fool proof instructions I wrote for some of my buds. Hope this helps, if not let me know, okay?
