I’m headed to Richmond this weekend. But next Saturday night is a date with the Lady at Darlington Raceway.
It can be slim pickings in terms of finding well-publicized stops for a trip of that magnitude, so the focus will be on local flavor.
Have you been to Darlington? And if so, where are the good places to visit?
I’m going to bank on at least one suggested barbecue place.

Sweet indeed, Young Pecan Plantations is a must, you can sample all their varieties such as Double Dipped Chocolate Pecans, Creamy White Pecans, Honey Crisp Pecans, Praline Pecans, Chocolate Butter Toffee Pecans, Chocolate Honey Baked Pecans and Sugar & Spice Pecans at the outlet, buy twice what you think you’ll need because they will be sorely missed when you run out of them. They used to have a mesquite flavored Pecan which was my favorite.
