Kyle's take, Part 1

Tuesday May 06, 2008 @ 11:55 AM EDT

Kyle Busch had this blunt explanation for those who continue to say he turned right - directly into the side of Dale Earnhardt Jr. - after they made contact in their much-publicized get-together as the Sprint Cup race at Richmond wound down last Saturday night.
“When you get loose, I think you would turn right to try to correct to save your racecar. I don’t recall anyone ever getting loose and turning left,” Busch said.
Then Busch took issue with a reference one reporter made to a commentator who said Busch could be seen inside the car sawing the wheel hard right.
“I don’t know who you’re referring to, but maybe they haven’t driven a racecar or if they have, maybe they haven’t driven one in a long time or don’t remember how loose you can drive a racecar or what happenes when it does get loose,” he added.
“It doesn’t matter. Yeah, I turned right because I needed to save my racecar and not wreck myself. In the instance of doing so, I got into the 88 and he went spinning.”
