... some credit is due to our U.S.service men and women for our being able to celebrate these festivities associated with ringing in the New Year. Let’s try in a small way to pay a tiny bit of what we owe. I hope that people stop and think of our heroes, living and dead, who sacrificed themselves for us.
I volunteer with a group that provides care packages for our service men and women stationed overseas. I am always impressed with their willingness to serve, and we are talking about extensive time…some are deployed for 15 months! Imagine being away from those you love for TWO Christmas and New Year’s holidays. I cant. The personal sacrifices made by them, their children and families is great.
As you ring in the new year, I hope you send a special thought to our armed forces.
For all of you…I hope your 2008 is filled with celebrations and moments to remember.
