I ain’t had the privilege of seein ya in a while…….I’m none too happy about it……it ain’t been easy……it ain’t been fun…..but Im dealin man……the best way I know how….it was kinda lonesome without ya for awhile…..kinda wandered around lost not knowin what to think or how to accept what I can’t change……so I asked myself what would you do in my place…..go forward…..move along….. accept the victories with humility…….accept the defeats as a chance to better yourself tomorrow……..be gracious in both…thats what I learned from ya man…..a worthy lesson for anyone. I ain’t alone man……theres lots of us that feel this way……bet ya never thought ya had this much effect did ya…just a race car driver doin what it took to provide for your family and doin it while doin what ya loved……well its more man…..way more.

I know ya been keepin an eye on that Kid o yours……I have too…….ya should be proud of the way he handles himself……ya taught him good…… never too easy on him…..never too hard…….givin him just enough to help him out…………..but leavin room for him to be able to claim it as his own……… he’s a humble , down to earth grown man and hes got you to thank for it……for showin him how a man treats his friends and enemies alike……with respect…I know your proud…………as well ya should be

I know ya noticed the cocky lil dude settin the tracks on fire in all 3 series…….kinda hard to miss hahahaha……he reminds me a lot of you……not a carbon copy by any means………hes still got a ways to go to even get close…..but the kid can drive……..I know ya gotta smile………..ride along with him every chance ya get…I know he’ll appreciate it

well, I aint gonna keep ya…….I know ya got places to go and people to see…..I still miss ya like it was yesterday…….I still wear my #3 hat and T-shirts wherever I go……silly ya say?………..not to me Dale………deep low down pain and loss my friend……unbearable….non stop anguish that I can only handle this way……never gonna forget ya ol man……..refuse to let ya go……..I know Neil’s hangin round close……….Im bettin he was glad and sad to see ya all at once……say “hey” for me would ya…I’d appreciate it.

It’s been 7 yrs man and I’d bet my last dollar that ya ain’t even got a clue what the fuss is still over……so I’m just gonna tell ya ……..and I know you’ll shake your head and deny it with that sheepish country boy grin on your face………we expected no less from ya………..We lost what we felt was our best friend in turn 4 at Daytona………….a friend we could count on…….. a friend that cared………….you were good for us man…….you were good to us…and ya never asked us for a damn thing back……..how do ya beat that man……..how do ya deal with losin somethin like that…..hopefully one day i can answer that for myself…but not today……or tomorrow.

dang it…….the winds blowin ……and i got somethin in my eye………hard to type………hard to see…….but if i learned anything from ya …its to be brave………….hold on tight and dont let go…..never let em see ya sweat…………..thanks ol man……I’m forever in your debt.

Not gonna say goodbye………just that I’ll see ya……….one day…………..Happy Birthday Dale……..and thanks for every thing……..hope it was a good’un
