like tony said...
When JGR is getting ready to negotiate a contract “dont announce it to the media” everyone who knows his talent scouted him because JGR let them know he was becoming available. OR was that JGR’s plan all along? Did they let out to the press they were negiotating so they wouldnt have to be the bad guys but not giving him a great deal? I did see somewhere though that he has signed with them until the end of 09.

Tony
JGR has always looked out for the intrest of their drivers. Do any of you think if Tony gets hurt or finishs outside of the 12 for the next two seasons; the multi billion $ company would care about Tony? Remeber he’s Tony Stewart not an Earnhart.
Thoughts?

Big picture
I think Tony is looking out for his future.. in AND out the race car. Gibbs isn’t willing to help give Tony what he wants, so he’s looking elsewhere. Also, keep in mind, Tony was never exactly excited about Toyota. His career is far from over, but I think it’s admirable for him to be looking ahead. Don’t be surprised when Tony lands at Hendricks.

I agree
about if Tony leaves i also feel he wont be as competitive.I think Tony shold talk 2 Joe Gibbs about getting him his motors and start his on team.I’m sure Tony has the money 2 do it if he really wants. But i think it’s going 2 come down 2 Chevy or Toyota and Tony will go with chevy. But u never now and only time will tell.

Well,
We probably will never hear the complete story if he does leave. But you have to consider other factors as well – he is having a rough year (not just him either) and how old is he and how much longer does he want to race? Does he want to finish his career in a Chevrolet? Does he feel that he has accomplished all he can with JGR? I wish him luck whatever he does!
