Rumours and Silly Season 2

Saturday July 12, 2008 @ 08:14 PM EDT

Everyone thinks some of us are a little “too” brand loyal, that it’s o.k for Toyota to be racing in Nascar.

I’m old school I guess and still believe in “made in America”. Apparently Tony Stewart does too.

Toyota took over the #2 spot in sales last year from Ford while GM held the top spot.

Gibbs switched to Toyota because GM wasn’t providing equal support for all it’s race teams.

TriplH mentioned that Realist1961 had some good garage gossip from Dover. He’s also mentioned a couple times hearing a rumour that GM was going to withdraw support of DEI unless they secure a top bill driver. Hhmm, think I should put 2 and 2 together?

Now GM is announcing they have enough money to operate this year and are trying to implement changes next year to not be bankrupt by 2010. WTF! How can you be #1 one year and many previous years, and be bankrupt 2-3 years later?

Why do they say they can’t switch over from SUV’s to compacts that fast? Toyota is changing some things over quickly.

Why did they wait until it was 10 years too late? I’d of recommended stopping production of gas guzzlers years ago. Hello!

How come GM is having to scale back before Ford?

So back to the rumours of GM abandoning DEI and it being for sale-MAYBE it has nothing to do with Teresa and more to do with the economy?

If Teresa sells the business and totally withdraws from the racing scene do you think JR’s fan will finally leave her in peace?

Dale Earnhardt was the GM Goodwrench driver. GM allready withdrew it’s sponsership of the #29 RCR car. Now if GM withdrew it’s support of DEI can you see them running any other engine program? Seriously? Not to mention it’s tied in with Richard’s.

I’ve never filed bankruptcy before so would they re-format and still be in business or will we see a future with HMS driving Hondas and RCR in Mitsubishi’s?
