Is the driver I root for a thug? In case you don’t know I chose the #29 driver,Kevin Harvick to follow after Dale Earnhardt’s tragic death.
I did not choose him until the 2002 season as I wasn’t an active Nascar fan in 2001. I also don’t follow the truck series and have missed alot of Harvick’s earlier antics.
I’ve heard stories though. Just this year I finally saw a clip of him jumping over the vehicle and snatching up Biffle. I didn’t see any choking-but I’ve heard stories.
It’s ironic because there is 1 group of people who miss the earlier “antics” and quite another group who the politicly correct Harvick is starting to grow on.
About the recent incident between Kyle Busch,Harvick and Hornaday following a truck race,I don’t see that as thugish behavior. No more then when Jr went over and talked to Hamlin following the incident with Brad K.(although seriously Hamlin wouldn’t get out of the car for Kyle Petty)in the Nationwide series. I just see it as a man protecting his property.
I personaly thought Harvick sticking his finger in Kyle’s face was pretty vanilla. Now if Kyle had bit it off we could discuss thugs.

oh the drama
You hear so much about fights between the drivers…. I think there is just too much of it. But harvick in my opinion is not a thug, its up to you on what you think. Montoya fans will say that episode between him and harvick was all harvicks bad temp. If you would ask me i say Montoya went out of boundary. About busch, harvick, and hornaday thing i did not see that, sorry. Harvick just stands his ground thats all. He may at times have a temper but a thug….no.

I don't think he's a thug..........
but I just wish the drivers wouldn’t threaten each other, as this is not effective. I like the “keep on wondering” approach. That’s “old school”.

no way – he’s a passionate driver who gets heated after racing incidents – they all do. Now my hubby’s not happy with what happened to Smoke with Harvick this last weekend but… LOL> That’s part of racing hard – it happens.
Ben – incident last racing season between Denny & Kyle P that ended up with words in the garage & Petty reached in to car & I think slapped Denny’s helmet if I remember right – Denny then got out of the car but it was just a heated exchange over a racing incident @ one of the races.

WHEN A DRIVER THEY DON’T LIKE DOES SOMETHING TO A DRIVER THEY DO LIKE, THEY WHINE! TAKE CARL EDWARDS AND MATT KENSETH FOR EXAMPLE. WHEN EDWARDS ALMOST PUNCHED KENSETH IN THE FACE, PEOPLE WENT CRAZY AND THOUGHT HE WAS BI-POLAR. HOW ABOUT WHEN A TOUGHY TURNS OUT TO BE A SOFTIE? TONY STEWART! WHY IS IT THAT PEOPLE CAN’T BELIEVE HE REALLY DOES HAVE A HEART? REMEMBER PEOPLE: THERE ARE ALWAYS TWO SIDES TO A NASCAR DRIVER! NOT TO MENTION IT WAS A RACE AND TENSIONS WERE HIGH. a Fan of a Thug…The only thugs I can actually name would be the real deal,They are all in my hometown,they hang like a gang of thugs,They congregate on the track at Bakersfield Speedway,they are the real thugs of this sport,they fight to raise awareness of Racing in the small leagues,In hopes to be reconized by the larger group of Nascar Owners in need of a high spirited Driver,these guys have to show everybody what it really takes to be a driver,Kevin had his chance on this track last week,If Anyone these thugs were trying there cheap shots at Kevin,but it didn’t faze Kevin at all,he walked away a gentleman.And the crowd was pleased….But Kevin does have limits ,like so many other Drivers,Kevin will snap if bent the wrong way just like any Driver out there……
