Profile:
I got started with NASCAR because I wanted to build a better relationship with my 12 year old son, who had started liking NASCAR and was hanging out on Sunday afternoons with another family. I suggested that we watch one of those races at home together and he agreed. I was amazed at how interesting and exciting it was and became hooked from the very start. I work at a Children’s Home caring for children that have been abused, neglected or abandoned, and now have half the kids that live here cheering for Jimmie Johnson. My grandson was able to say Jimmie Johnson before he could say grandma, and now I am just waiting for the day he is old enough to take to the track to see a race live like the rest of us do as a family at least once a year.
My wife says that I am totally obsessed. Half my wardrobe has 48 on it, my man cave is all Jimmie and last winter I made custom decals by hand to make my 4 wheeler all Lowes.
I work in a children’s home caring for abused and neglected children for the last 11 years and manage a couple of web sites in my free time. I would love to be able to report on NASCAR and have an excuse to go to all of the races. Maybe that can be a project for a future website.
Other interests:
Besides God and Family I don’t have many other interests other than NASCAR.

Great Job 48 Pal...
I see you’ve found our group of true #48er’s. No bandwagon fans here just because he took the title last year. My Vegas pals and my family are saving up for a 2 week trip to Speedweek in 2009. We’ll let the 50th Anniverary pass due to the masses trying to go. For now, Homestead is all that matters. Dropped off my 2006 Championship leather jacket yesterday to have “Back To Back” & “2007” embroidered across the shoulders. Hopefully not too premature but that should do the trick. I’m that confident in Our Team!!! You can be proud of your profile…Cool stuff you do for kids. I can relate. “Later” Ed

Awesome
I think it is awesome how you became a NASCAR fan. I have a two year old son and already now that I would try to take interest in his interest to be closer to him. And then you go and pick Jimmie as your driver even more awesome. So who is your sons driver?
