Can you believe it? Michigan sure was incredible!!!
I know many of you out there are still celebrating after Dale Jr.’s win. I was standing behind the pit boxes with two laps to go. All of a sudden the crowd jumped to their feet and started to roar. I knew at that moment that Dale was going to be pulling into Victory Lane.
I’ll never forget seeing his face when he pulled in. He had the biggest smile in the world, just pure happiness. When he came to a stop I leaned in and said to him, “You did it on Father’s Day Dale.” I know it meant a lot to him to win on that holiday. It was a tearful moment for a lot of people.
There’s so much more to tell you about! I got to hang with one very cool guy at pre-race, Mr. Bill Engvall. He had me laughing so hard on the stage I almost fell over.
Oh, and we played “Sprint Idol” at the Sprint Experience. I of course played the role of Paula and we had a Randy and Simon as well. We had fans do their best version of “Gentlemen Start Your Engines.” Man was it funny and the winners received free Sprint FanView rentals. We also, as always, threw out tons of hats and other cool stuff. One nice fan named Dale told me that the Sprint Experience was his favorite at-track stop before the race!
Michigan was definitely a weekend to remember. I’ll never forget all the cool fans I met or the look on Dale Jr.’s face when he pulled into Victory Lane!
Blessings,
Anne-Marie
P.S. On my flight to Michigan I met two lovely people from England. I told them all about NASCAR. They also in turn taught me a little bit about their culture and said that the word “fortnight” means two weeks to them. So I guess I’ll end my blog with, “See you in New Hampshire in a fortnight.” I can’t wait!

All Junior Fans...He has found his mark.
To all Junior fans…..when he left DEI myself and others thought it would be a hard switchover. At Michigan, he finally proved he can be his own driver by leaving. This time last year (2007) he was struggling. Michigan is just a start. Even if he doesn’t win this year, all Junior fans can be proud.
