Bristol, Baby!

Welcome to the weekend & to the first Bristol race of the season!
Who here doesn’t like Bristol?
Since I became a NASCAR fan I had been dreaming of Bristol. The first Bristol race I went to was in 2006 – the famous Blizzard Busch red flag race. Before that season, when I was planning races with my friend Jenn, I asked her: “Where do you want to go this year?” Her response was: “Bristol, Baby!”

So we were on our way & got to see a great snow storm & 2 great races – although we were both disappointed by the Cup finish. Jenn also got to experience NASCAR hospitality – a guy on a 4-wheeler gave us a ride to my truck. I also traded a 6 pack of beer for a prime parking spot right on the road (at 9 am the parking spot “sellers” had already finished their case).

I also had the pleasure of driving a stock car at Bristol with the Richard Petty Driving Experience – that was my 31st birthday present to myself. Driving the car was awesome (of course) but it was strange to be in that bowl with every seat and the infield empty. Before you drive, they take you around in a 16-person passenger van – I thought we were going to tip over!

Enjoy the race this weekend & please share your Bristol stories with me!
