Brian Vickers is solidly in the top 35 in points. He sits 15th in driver and owner points just 112 out of the Chase. He heads to Chicagoland where he’s had some great success.

Driver up-dates:
40- Dario Franchitti is out of the 40 as the team has closed up in order to focus finances on the other 2 cup team.
45- Terry Labonte will fill in again this week for Kyle Petty as he attends his daughter’s wedding, and takes several more weeks off to commentate for the TV broadcasts.
8 – Mark Martin returns to the car for DEI this week (last week he announced his full time ride in the Hendrick 5 in 2009)
21- Bill Elliott is back for the Wood Brothers
70- Jeremey Mayfield was let go at Haas Racing after his team dropped out of the top 35 in owner’s points, also playing musical subs, Jason Leffler gets another turn in the car this week
34- Tony Raines is again in the 34
49- The BAM Racing team is taking a break and running only part time as they have lost primary sponsorship and are still trying to get organized after switching to Toyota and partnering with Bill Davis Racing
