Men never forget important dates, a tear jerker.
A woman awakes in the middle of the night to find her husband not in bed. She puts on her robe to go downstairs and look for him. She find him at the dining room table with a cup of coffee, staring at the blank wall in deep thought. She watches him wipe a tear from his eye as he sips his coffee.
“Whats the matter dear?” she whispers as she steps into the room, “Why are you down here this time of night?’
The husband looks up from his coffee “I am just remembering when we first started dating. You were only 16. Do you remember back then?” he says solemnly.
“I do rememmber.” she replies, touched to tears that her husband is so caring and sensitive.
The husband pauses as his words do not come easily. Fighting the emotions he asks “Do you remember when your father caught us in the backseat of my car?”
“Yes, I remember.” she says as she sits next to him.
“Do you remember when he shoved the shotgun in my face and said ‘Either you marry my daughter or I will send you to jail for 25 years!’?” he asks, choking back tears.
“Yes dear, I do remember that.” she replies softly, placing here arm around his shoulder.
He wipes another tear from his cheek and says “I would have gotten out today.”
