While you may be right concerning Kyle Busch/Regan Smith since I’m simply speculating from my gut, I can tell you this. Joe & Sterling have clauses in their contracts that state if they drive for another team THEY nullify said contracts. While Sterling is consulting with his attorneys to see if he can get bought out by “Ginn”, it looks like Joe is willing to throw in the towel & take a ride where he can get it.

I have my doubts as to whether they would put Regan in the #8. And I’m not so sure that Kyle is out of the running. There may be even more of a draw to DEI now that someone he respects highly is there. And Joe wants to drive this weekend/move to the #08, but he can’t do anything until Ginn clears up the messy stuff with the remainder of his contract.

Update
From what i’ve read, DEI absorbed Ginn. The #15 inherits the 14’s points. This puts the #15 in the Top 35 in Owner’s Points. They will forfeit the #13’s points putting the Wood Bros. 21 Ford in the Top 35. Regan Smith is being relegated to the Truck Series for the time being. Personally, I don’t see them signing Kyle Busch now. I still believe Regan Smith will take over Jr.’s ride in 2008. It appears that Joe Nemechek will move to the #08 of E&M Motorsports.

Power House
If you look at this strictly as a business decision it was a very smart move on both sides.
DEI knew they would be losing some major money with Jr. leaving. If not BUD then other forms of revenue he would bring in.
Ginn was tired of dumping his own money when sponsors were tough.
Both teams have at least one car that is solid and each team has one car that is on the line.
Now they have 2 solid cars and 2 cars on the line of being solid. Little bit of tweaking and the re-sources they both have at their fingertips now makes it a power house of a team.
Smart move on both parts if you ask me. In order to keep up and keep on both organizations had to do something. And they did.

Well from what I read.........
Ginn is still listed as the owner of the #15 now, and the #01. Teresa is listed as the owner of the #8 and #1. I also read that Joe Nemechek is supposed to have a ride this weekend?? But for whom?

and they..
shouldn’t be allowed to transfer the owner points either.
so now DEI has the #‘s 1 and 01 and 13,14,15. i guess they won’t need the 8 now…
