Has anyone seen or heard a statement from Teresa or DEI since Jr’s announcement that he’s signed with Hendrick? This is the company his father built (for his children), can they at least give him enough respect to say congratulations or good luck? I agree with what Jr said in the first press conference about if his father were here we wouldn’t be looking at this situation today. Dale Sr had a vision when he started DEI, he didn’t race for them, he gave that job to his son and other drivers he saw a future in. Where is that vision now? I completely support Jr’s decision in leaving and I hope that DEI will at least support the son of it’s founder in the future. I think the whole thing is pretty sad, I know Jr must have wanted things to be different, that he wanted to build on his father’s vision by bringing his own ideas to the company, but that wasn’t to be. He seems happy now and that is what matters. I know Rick Hendrick will take care of him and give him great cars. He will even actually attend the race! What a year we have to look forward to in 2008!
