Tony Stewart’s new rides show SHR is a contender in next years cup season. With two big names affiliated with NASCAR for a long time, Office Depot 4 years running and Old spice 9 years running. Tony has been with Old spice for those nine years.

Chuck Rubin, President of North American retail for Office Depot had this to say about his future paring with the Stewart-Haas racing team;

“Tony is a successful entrepreneur who has an impressive record as a small business owner. This is one of the reasons why he is such a perfect fit for Office Depot,” said Chuck Rubin, President of North American Retail for Office Depot. “We believe that Tony’s passion to win and relentless pursuit of excellence truly embody the essence of the Office Depot brand and represent the commitments we make every single day to help our customers be successful.”

It’s in Tony’s blood to make things happen and though in his tumultuous 10 year span with Home Depot, they didn’t give up on him.

Tony will search out and find what’s holding Haas racing back in the past, where could the break in the system be? To get up to the caliber of JGR or HMS, or Roush-Fenway.

He has started with getting a well known affiliate with NASCAR and that’s good for the investors, it is about the money as well as having knowledgeable, racing-in-their-blood sort of people.

Decoding a three part general puzzle, SHR must decode to be a top contender.

1) Great sponsorship, those people on Wall St. or Madison ave want to see the green rolling in. Tony is still so Hot right now, he is the fourth highest paid race-car driver in the nation, stated by Forbes magazine. Office Depot/Old spice is smart to follow him. They know their money is invested in a driver who is still in his prime. He has delivered top notch driving with Old Spice in the Nationwide Series.

2)Great Equipment. This contends with #1 but I did it this way for the sake of numbers. Why was there a need to cheat and get banned from a few races, this is not Tony’s style so with getting equipment from HMS and Joe Gibbs said openly that he would give Tony any help he needed, not giving up his spot on the shaker or wind tunnel, anything like that, but having people back you who are high winnings teams like that are not too bad.

3) The right Drivers. Tony though he will have his hands full with being the co-owner and all that intails, may be, i just say may be, not a top 10 finisher every week, but then again there was Alan Kulwicki. Who else is a high profile driver some one who’s face is everywhere and people love already, who’s pretty hot as a driver (Not Kyle Busch hot) but still someone who is recognized for talent, a name that people recognize and that person to me would be Ryan Newman, the cat’s practically in the bag for that one. This could give Ryan the confidence he needs to become the driver he wants to be, working closely with a small team. Ryan also has a college degree in Engineering, he’s no dummy just sitting behind the wheel. He can understand the scientific technology behind the sport and that can only help a fledgling race team, make a great start.

So all in all you have looking at the total package for Stewart-Haas racing; high profile driver/owner who already knows some of what it’s like to be a team owner, with his World of Outlaws team. Parts and engines which are Chevy and you know Chevy as an entity are jumping up and down for joy to have their golden boy back wholeheartedly, and two great drivers who can deliver and are still are VERY marketable, Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman. If for any chance Ryan is not going to SHR, (Tell me if you know otherwise) how about a Nationwide series driver who can grow with the organization like Tony did at JGR. Thanks for reading.
