Car #66
Is owned by Joe Custer at Stewart-Haas. You’d think it would be mostly up to him if he wanted to keep that number for the following season (if things went well enough) or if they’d just let NASCAR take the number back. They do have to pay for the rights to a number. Money wise it would be best to let it go for now if it didn’t have any sentimental value to them of some sorts.

SHR should not have a problem
getting the #14 since nobody is using it eight now in Cup. This blog does kinda answer one of the questions I have been asking about SHR going to 3 teams in 2009. So Tony will drive the #14 and Ryan will drive either the #66 or the #70 and which ever car # not being used will be given back to Nascar for the time being or SHR will keep it until they expand, right?

Good blog
From the time Tony made the announcement he was leaving JGR so many different rumors have surficed and before it’s all over a thousand more may pop up. Tony knows what he’s doing in my opinion and we can have confidence he will do it right. He’s a business man, he will make this work, step by step.

I think
its a very smart move to stay as a 2 car team for now. You don’t wanna end up like MWR, yes you can collect more data with more cars. But the downside is, the cost of operation goes higher with each car… Stewart-Haas doesn’t have that kind of money yet. My guess, if all goes well and his cars make the Chase next year…. 3 cars by 2010.
