HELLOO! Thanks for the invite also! I have been a nurse aide for 10 years and am working on my business degree so that I may one day own my own healthcare facility and/or homecare agency. My main goal in life is to be alot like..well..HUNTER PATCH ADAMS!! Please tell me you all have seen the movie Patch Adams starring Robin Williams!! If not, he is a doctor that soley works on his patients scott- free! He takes donations ONLY! The money that the movie made went into building his hospital, The Gesundeit Institute and patients never have to pay a dime for care! This is a major goal of mine as well, and of taking care of my staff. Good and proper Healthcare is so hard to find! We need more places that are non-profit! I see so many people that are neglected or staff that are treated unfairly because of money hungry agencies, etc. These people I take care of daily from; Autistism, Down Syndrome, Elderly, Brain Injured, Multiple Schlerosis, Cerebal Palsy, etc. etc. are people too!! They deserve the best possible care and if I have to break the laws of my agency and/or employer… I will damn sure do this, just to make sure they get every single thing they need or want!! I am sick of them being brushed off to the side like a mosquito or left in urine soaked clothes to get rashes or worse! Many are left in absolute filth; and healthcare starts with the aide on up! THAT IS WHY I QUIT NURSING SCHOOL!! I choose not to be behind the desk wondering if my people are ok. They need more, and so do the good nurse aides and nurses out there that care!! SO THAT’S MY GOAL AND I’M STICKING TO IT!!NICE TO MEET ALL OF YOU!!
