Well, I’m back to visit the old school page, feeling worse than ever ever about Nascar, the new Coke of motorsports. My biggest problem with the big commercial has become the start time for most races, Used to be, back in the day, that races began at 12:30 or !:00 o’clock on a Sunday.I could meet with a huge gang of friends down at Prime Time, enjoy a race, and get home in time to maybe mow the lawn. These damn 4:00 o’clock starts mean that an average race won’t end until after 7:oo and it really screws up the day!The races run into basketball games and wrestlemanias at the bar, so nobody goes to the bar anymore. We just watch at home, unless we have to have dinner with the folks or something else normal people do after 5 on Sunday. But I’m sure these new start times are convenient for West Coast viewers, who, by and large, never gave a rat’s ass about Nascar anyway.I also understand that a late-starting race affords the networks to have anice 3 hour pre-race show, but all I need to know before the race is the line-up and who is going to the back. That takes 3 minutes. That’s my rant. Wake up Nascar! You’re losing me.

I was thinking
after yesterday’s “Nationwide” race, since we have so many caution laps why don’t they just skip pre-race and go over it all and possibly entertain us during the time we’d rather be watching them race.
