Juan Pablo vs. Kevin - Part I

OK, ring the bells because there’s a rivalry heating up! We ALL know what happened between Kevin Harvick and Juan Pablo Montoya. Just in case you don’t, this is what went down.

Watkins Glen, NY
Centurion Boats at the Glen
August 12, 2007

The field was coming back down towards turn 1 for the restart. Juan Pablo tries going inside to block Martin Truex Jr. Truex gets Montoya loose going into the turn and can’t brake in time. In turn, Montoya gets into the side of Kevin Harvick, who was going into the turn. Chaos ensues as Harvick’s car runs into Jamie McMurray to cause more damage to Harvick’s car. Jeff Burton, who tried to avoid the wreck, runs into Montoya’s car, ending his day. Harvick then drives toward Montoya and blocks him. Suddenly, they both climb out of their cars and begin arguing with each other. Obviously, Harvick doesn’t know what happened at first between the 1 and the 42 but he just starts yelling and shoving Montoya until Jeff Burton comes and stops them both.

Author’s Opinion: If you ask me, it’s neither Harvick nor Montoya’s fault that they were taken out of the race. The blame should all be put on DEI/Ginn Racing and Martin Truex Jr. for starting this whole mess! NASCAR should’ve parked the 1 car, or at least slapped him with a heavy penalty for rough driving. I know some of you will disagree with me, but at least look at the replays and you’ll see who started this mess and you’ll see that it was Truex in car #1!
